Bucketworks Update

Jenn Turner's picture

In the last two days, Bucketworks has undergone an incredible transformation. It's metamorphosis has allowed us to consider some basic structural changes that were simply not a consideration before now. Currently, Bucketworks has been stripped of her underskirts. She's missing her bottom 16" of drywall in both the Flowspace and the Cafe. Doorways have been taken apart and all of the none-too-beloved carpet has been pitched into the dumpster abyss. The cafe has been given a golden opportunity to hang some new, swingy doors. Oh, so conveniently placed outlets in the east wall of the Flowspace are now quite possible.

These are the possibilities we are choosing to focus on. While we are not able, at this time, to provide a timeline for re-powering and re-opening as these things take time and patience (We're reminding ourselves of that fact just as much as we are you.) we can still choose to see possibility where hardship seems the more appropriate view.

We would like to thank the good people from Damage Control who have been positively instrumental in cleanup effort. And also everyone who has graciously phoned or emailed to volunteer their two hands to help. We can't tell you how much we appreciate it. However, as the Damage Control team take this task in hand it is truly your support in the form of donations that will help us the most. So take a look at the photosets flying around flickr. Read the blog posts of Bucketworks volunteer board members Gabe Wollenberg and Pete Prodoehl. We cannot wait to re-open our doors and welcome you all back in.
