Issue 18 | July 08 | Wirefree and Threadless

On Sunday, July 27 the Bucketworks crew took a little sojourn out to Mad-towne to pop in to Extra Bold Portfolio School for BarcampMadison2. Extra Bold is a beautiful space, over on Pinckney near the Capitol - next time you're in Madison check it out. There were great sessions on Python, Expression Engine CMS, OpenID, Drupal (of course), a photo walk, and a Co-working session presented by our own James Carlson. At the end of the sessions there was "slideshow karaoke" from presentations designed in the wee hours of the morn. I hope to link you all soon.

Monday night we had the pleasure of visiting the lovely home of Shaheeb Roshan & his wife Mona. Shaheeb and Mona generously donated a Dell Poweredge 2450 and an IBM eServer xSeries 440 with 1 terabyte of hard drive space and 8 CPU cores to Bucketworks. We had an amazing discussion about a project Shaheeb is working on -- the WireFreeMKE project. Interested in helping to develop a community supported free-to-access wireless mesh network? Ask yourself, where is a total dead zone where you would love to see wifi? Then ask Shaheeb to schedule a co-working date. Connect with Shaheeb by visiting the WireFreeMKE site.

Tomorrow's Bucketworks & Milwaukee Spotlight Student Film Festival Movie on the Square at the Bayshore Town Center is Breaking Away - we hope to see you there!

The Spotlight Student Film Festival submission deadline has passed and we received 61 submissions from across the country. So, save the date for the October 11th & 12th screenings.

Did I mention that Harper Reed of Threadless fame is going to be here?
