We've been staring at those breakers for a long time now. And it's time for a change. The weekend of August 23 & 24th, it's time to put the bucket back together again.

We will provide the drywall, the tape, the mud, the paint, and the stuff that needs to be moved, but we need your people power. Volunteer for Physical Wiki Weekend and help us put the space back together again. We didn't think it would come to this, but it has. We can't wait any longer.

We're dividing the work into 4 teams: floor strippers (protective gloves and masks provided), drywallers (must have experience, please!), ceiling tilers, and painters. There are four 3 hour volunteer blocks:

Saturday, August 23
10:00am - 1:00pm
1:00pm - 4:00pm

Sunday, August 24
10:00am - 1:00pm
1:00pm - 4:00pm

If you would like to volunteer for one of these blocks, send an email to jenn@bucketworks.org. And please specify which team you would like to join.

We've got a full schedule going into September, and October will be a big month around here with events like the Milwaukee Spotlight Student Film Festival, Barcampmke3, the Bucketworks Grand Opening, a member movie night, and a haunted house. If you'd like to volunteer for the planning committee for the Grand Opening or the Haunted House, please send an email to octoberfundraiser@bucketworks.org.

Super cool:

"Actor's Craft student, Daniel Brown, traveled to New York for the week-long International Model and Talent Association competition for the week ending July 26th and came home a winner!  Daniel writes, "I went out there feeling like a million bucks, especially with my monologues that I had chosen and with the great guidance and wisdom of Maureen Cashin Bolog.  On the final day is the big awards ball with dinner and then the presentation of the Team awards, Actors and Models of the year, and Scholarships by select schools and agency. I won a $10,000 talent-based scholarship to attend the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts.  It was based on my monologues that I did in my competition and my callback. If I hadn't worked with Maureen Cashin Bolog on those pieces I'm most certain that I wouldn't have gotten the scholarship or the callback. I also got honorable mention for all my competitions and 2nd runner-up for the 'I'm ready for my Close up' competition." Daniel studied Acting Technique with Maureen at Bucketworks this past year.  He leaves for New York at the end of August to make full use of his $10,000 scholarship! Congratulations Daniel Brown."
