If the answer to any of these questions is "Yes," then you should consider joining the Bucketworks Board of Directors. 

Bucketworks is a place designed to help people share the experience of bringing their passions to life, whatever they may be. People make everything from computers to churches, from paintings to performances, from websites to waxworks at Bucketworks. And most of them are striving to find a way to make their passion transformative and self-sustaining--however they define that.

Our mission is to help them understand how their passions can connect them to their community, to themselves, and to their ideal future.

We need your help to achieve this mission, to define it, and to get people involved with it. And because you are already familiar with Bucketworks, you are the right person. If you answered those questions "Yes", you are the right person. Because you can help us understand what do with the people who answered those questions with "No," you are the right person.

Most non-profit Boards have officers and members, and we're looking for both. We want you if you have a background in economics and accounting. Creating a truly transparent and privacy-respecting accounting system is brand new, and part of our design. We need someone who can think globally about how to do this, so we can set an example to other organizations like ours. We want you if you know about taking ideas national. We want you if you know about new media communications, like using the internet and other experiences. We want you if you are an expert in contract and business law, so we can invent new tools that make law accessible to all of our members.

And we want you if you have ever had an idea like Bucketworks in your head, or had an idea about Bucketworks in your head.

If you join our Board, we'll train you in how to find out the things that are going on with Bucketworks. We'll also give you access to all the information we generate in the course of our business. And we'll convene your time together, so you can make good plans for Bucketworks. But it will take your energy, your time, and your drive to ensure that the responsibilties you take actually get carried out. You will have to spend time outside of the Board meetings to carry out the Board's mission. And you might even help the staff from time to time. We have a lot to do, and there are three of us doing it right now.

I realize this might sound like a lot of work, and it is--but it is rewarding, and connecting, and realizing passion, and it's very satisfying. I've never stuck with anything as long as I've stuck with Bucketworks, and I have no intention of giving up. Being a part of Bucketworks I've had a chance to do everything I love doing, every single day. And by doing that, I give to my community and sustain myself. It's a wonderful experience, and I'd like to share it with everyone.
